Two - April 2009

Hi and welcome to this, the second newsletter of the new club.

Only 55 days until the next issue of the magazine should be with you so I figured it was time for an update on what is going on with the club and what we are looking forward to in the near future. I hope to get a news letter out like this every month, with the exception of magazine issue months, but only if there is anything to tell you.

Large 4

By all accounts a fun weekend was had by all those that attended, a small but fun loving crowd. It was good to hear that not only were there a number of the usual suspects along but also some new members of the club made it along as well.

Gaz and Andi pulled together a good social and my thanks to them for the hard work - especially for the £160 raised for the club with the obligatory raffle, nice one.

London Film and Comic Con

Robert is an official signing guest at this years event at Earls Court and a very nice man, Jason Joiner, who runs these things is letting us have a club table next to Robert to promote the club and flog stuff. If you are in or around the smoke come along, we can always find time for a couple of pints somewhere...

The BIG Birthday Bash

We are nearly at the 'get it on' stage for our plans for this big summer event. At the moment the main plan for the Saturday is - Boat along the Thames to Kew Bridge (pirate costumes are reccomended) and then party in the pub (food, disco etc). So far indications of members signing up are good with over a third of the number required having commited. We have a boat selected but the firm won't hold without a deposit so I am hoping to go firm on this the first week in May, once I know we have the requisite numbers coming. The good news is, numbers permitting, I hope to cut the overall price to £20 per head (members) and £30 per head (non-members).

Deposits MUST be paid by the 1st of May PLEASE people, you can do that HERE

Full details will be in the May edition of the magazine.

Ok, that's it from me. As I have already said, the next magazine will be out the last week of May and as well as updates and more on all things mentioned here will also have news from Robert, the next instalment of Retromancer, More original artwork from Robert, articles and the usual mixed bag of eclectic content you have come to know and (hopefully) love.....

See you then.

Ian.
