Well I've just got back from the Steampunk Asylum where I was committed this weekend. We had a (steam) blast! Robert and Rachel attended and I have photos here.

Looks great, nice to see something where Simon's outfit isn't the best by a country mile
He was indeed feeling underdressed.
It was an unbelievably great weekend, I have never been in the company of quite so many wonderfully dressed people at any one time before. And to make it utterly wonderful I was awarded the title of the very first Fellow of The Victorian Steampunk Society, which, as it has been set up as a genuine society means that I can have the letters FVSS after my name. That will have all and sundry baffled. And my ray gun won the Verne Award for 2009. What a weekend, the next one will be the weekend before DaCon next year, but if you can make both then do, I certainly will. Check out Brass Goggles website (can someone put up a link?), there are hundreds of photos up. Major Tinker and Lady Elsie, you are stars!

I really rather fancied that but it unfortunately the dates clashed with something else. Looks like I missed a good one. That's rather annoying.
Still, next year....
(Though it's looking like I'd have to start assembling costumes now. And growing my 'tache again)
Nursie - your first link doesn't quite work... too many dots at the end of the URL I think!
Thanks for pointing that out, I have fixed it now
Looks like it was good for a giggle, but likewise I couldn't make it.
Looking at those forums, and thinking of the "homemade" SP items that were on show at the Pirate Party...
I've got some dead hard disks here (modern clockwork!) which are destined for the bin. Would anyone like to have them, to salvage bits for projects? There's PCB's and little intricate metal things, and SHINY (see the piccie below)!
Ooh shiny!
Unfortunately I am rubbish at building things, but I do write pretty good con reports.
Here's mine for the Asylum
