Re: What are you reading now?

I am struggling through Winter Guard by John Campbell Rees, a self published book by a long time fan who some of you will know.

I don't want to be cruel, I like Cabbage Rees and have known him for 20ish years. But...

This is a stupid idea, badly written, badly edited and badly presented. From the lop-sided spine to not knowing the difference between "your" and you're" every single thing about this book is wrong.

And it is not even so bad that it is funny.

Even the title, which ought to be "Winter Squad". But that may be the fault of the reviewer.

My excuse for getting the title wrong is that I was trying to blank out all memory of the book from my brain. And I was doing quite a good job!

Thinking of reading The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch next, but I've read that it's a bit slow. As the book is over 500 pages long that makes me a bit doubtful. Has anyone read it? What did you think?
